Q: How do I find out about current job openings at Valparaiso Univeristy?
A: All current job openings are located under Careers Home.
Q: How do I know if a position is still available?
A: If a job opening is posted on our employment listings website, we are still considering candidates. Once a position is closed, it will be removed from our website.
Q: How long will the application process take to complete online?
A: The process should take between 15-20 minutes to complete online. You will be able to upload a cover letter, resume and references to your online application.
Q: I want to send in hard copies of my resume and cover letter. Where can I send these?
A: In order to manage our application data most effectively, we are only considering applications submitted electronically. However, if you experience technical difficulties and need assistance or have a disability that requires reasonable accommodation, please send an email to: Human.resources@valpo.edu with your materials.
Q: Why aren't there any jobs in Current Openings?
A: We do not have any openings at the moment, but please check back.
Q: I cannot remember my password. Can you assist me?
A: If you do not recall the email address and or password used, please select 'Forgot your password?
Q: I just submitted my profile but need to make a correction. What should I do?
A: Under Current Openings, click on Update Your Porfile. You can log-in to your account to make changes to your profile.
Q: What is the recruitment process for a job opening?
A: Once you have completed all the information through the online tracking system it will be reviewed by the hiring department. The hiring manager will contact applicants that meet the qualifications for the job opening.
Q: How long does it take to be notified for an interview?
A: The timeline for the scheduling of interviews varies for each job opening. However, once a job opening is removed from the Valparaiso University webiste it should be 1-2 weeks before interviews take place.
Q: What are the hours for the job?
A: The hours for each position are listed within the job posting for the position.
Q: Are ther any physical requirements for the job?
A: It depends on the position. The specific requirements will be listed in the job posting.
Q: How long is the contract of employment?
A: All Valparaiso University employees are considered 'at will'. Meaning that either you or the University has the option to terminate the appointment at any time with or without cause or notice.
